Internet Marketing Techniques Part 5 – Create Information Products at Lightning Speed
One of the problems that exists with most of the people that start an Internet business is that they get confused as soon
as they start dabbling in this medium. It is very easy to do because there are so many options and ideas about what to do on the Internet that it is very easy to get distracted. By education, I am an education technologist and my primary function in this capacity is to use technology, the Internet and tools like PowerPoint to educate people. I can honestly say that learning and teaching on the Internet is very hard because of all of the distractions and as I said before, there are tons of things to distract you from focusing on what you want to accomplish using Internet tools and the medium itself and if you aren’t very careful, you will not get a thing done.
Another problem with doing business on the Net is that you will get bombarded by Internet Marketing Gurus that will try to sell you their very expensive wares. They will write courses (usually nothing more than e-books) with information that thy got from books that they purchased from a book store. One big time Guru actually tells you on his videos that he does this. He purchases books through Amazon.com, highlights the material from them that he thinks is the most important and then hires someone from eLance.com or Guru.com to rewrite the material for him. (Completely legal, buy the way.)
Actually, I can tell you exactly how he does this by using bullet points if you really want to know.
- Go to Clickbank and look at a subject that has a lot of competition Reason: If enough experienced guys are doing this then they must be making money. Going into a small niche is hard to market. In a personal case that he highlighted, he picked eBay! as the subject of his information product ( or course as he called it) which had a load of people selling products based on eBay!
- Go to an online book store and pick a bunch of the top selling books on the subject. If you are smart, you will buy them used on Amazon for a lot less than you would pay for them anywhere else.
- When you get the books, take a highlighter and highlight all of the stuff that you think is pertinent to your info product.
- Go on eLance.com or Guru.com and hire someone to rewrite the material that you highlighted.
- Send the highlighted books to the individuals
- When the individuals that you hired send you the material that is rewritten make sure that you pay them.
- Add some good graphics that you can reinforce your points in the material with. Graphics are good because people can relate to them better and in my humble opinion, they make the course look a lot better.
- After the material has been rewritten put it into Adobe Acrobat format. (.pdf file)
- Create a sales page for your product.( More on this in another episode…)
- List the info product on Clickbank for affiliates to pick up. make sure you pay a large commission 50% or more. Reason: they will be much more motivated to sell your product. If you sell an info product for $50.00 you will still get $25.00 a sale. Just imagine if you have thousands of motivated sellers out there pushing your product and you don’t have any printing or shipping costs because this is a digital product. (Clickbank only sells digital products, anyway.)
- Create easy methods methods for your affiliates to sell your products by making banners and links for them to use.
- 12. Sit back and reap the profits….NOT!! Start working on your next project because as we all know……
IF YOU ARE MAKING MONEY FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE OR DIRECTION THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE SLEEPING WELL AT NIGHT! ( From the famous marketer, Dan Kennedy)
Here is a video series on how to create information products:
This Will Be the Year of The Elmo! ( Like You Really Give A Doo-Doo)
OK, I am going to deviate from my usual post this time so that I can bring you a piece of advice that you just can’t live without. Namely my timeless and wonderful advice that you just can’t do without, I want you to know. I will be addressing my usual post on internet marketing techniques this week in an effort to educate all of you IM wannabees. If you haven’t had the chance to read my last episode on the subject just click here: Internet Marketing Techniques Part 4
Part 5 will be out shortly, so be patient will ya?
The Internet is really a strange place. People seem to do some pretty weird things in this new age of information. As a matter of fact, America is the Information Nation because of the fact that a couple of centuries ago a bunch of us got together and told the tomes of history that we were fed up with people that had control buttons on our lives. We wanted a government that kept its grubby hands out of our business as much as possible and we wanted FREE ENTERPRISE! You know, the ability and freedom to go on down to the court house and file ( not beg, mind you) for a business license that we could have in our hands in just a few days. Most countries you have to wait years to get a license to do any type of business. England, Germany, France, India you name the country, they will tell you about all of the crap you have top go through to start a business.
Anyway, this freedom is great and we all love the crap out of it, at least those of us that understand world history, do. But I have to admit, in the last couple of years people have very easily been able to start and run businesses on the Internet that have been spectacular. Look at that group of kids that started that video sharing site in their garage with just credit cards and then sold it to some sorta search engine for billions of dollars. WOW! You really have to appreciate the age we live in.
Now, we are into some definite weird crap that I just have to scratch my head at. Actually, it has been going on for over 10 years now, but who is really paying attention to that, right? I noticed it first when I was in a chat room years ago and I accidentally hit my caps button. Yes, I remember that day well. One of the people said something to me I’ll never forget.
“Elmo, you are shouting.”
OMG!!! I’m shouting with my caps key locked on. Now, when I mentioned to the person on the other end that I just happened to lock it on by accident, they told me it was improper internet protocol to do so.
Well, being a natural pain in the gluteus maximus I kept right on typing with the caps on. I said,
“YA GOTTA BE KIDDING!”
“No, please refrain from shouting at me.”
“I’M NOT SHOUTING AT YOU, I AM JUST USING MY CAPS!”
” The fact that you are using your caps and an exclamation mark shows that you are shouting at me.”
“OK IS THIS BETTER?”
“Is what better?”
“I”M NOT USING THE BLASTED EXCLAMATION MARK ANYMORE.”
“No, because you are still shouting at me.”
“WELL, I THINK YOU ARE USING A CONDESCENDING TONE WITH ME”
” How do you figure that, Elmo?”
“BECAUSE OF THE WAY YOU ARE TALKING TO ME LIKE I AM SOME SORT OF REBELLIOUS CHILD”
“BITE ME.”
“What did you say?”
“I SAID, B-I-T-E ME. BY THE WAY, I WAS SPELLING AND YELLING THAT TIME.”
“Come again?”
” BITE ME.”
“Go ahead, say it one more time.”
” BITE ME, BITE MY MOMMA, BITE MY WHOLE *@&%$# FAMILY!”
It was at that point that the administrator kicked me out of the room.
Well, things have only gotten worse with people on the Internet because they now have all of this power. Not only do they have power, but they are getting their 15 minutes of Andy Worhol fortified with vitamins and Viagra fame.
Don’t believe me? Check out this guy. He almost got his own reality TV show for making this clip:
Stay Tuned for the rest of this post I am writing it as we speak…er type…Whatever!!!
Internet Marketing Techniques Part 4 – Create Incredible Content for Your Site
We are now into the swing of things in this new year of 2010 and we can now put away our Christmas lights and start focusing on our New Year goals and resolutions. For those of you that really want to know, I have a goal to lose 25 lbs. I actually started pursuing my dream back on December 12th when I attended an outdoor walking event, here, in Lexington. At the event, I was introduced to an Internet site called the 50 Million Pound Challenge. I have since set my goal and consistently worked toward it for almost a month, an I have only missed 3 days at the Gym due to important scheduling that I just couldn’t get around. The results so far:
- My blood pressure is down
- I am sleeping much better and therefore I have much more energy
- My clothes fit me much better
- I have lost 8 lbs since I started on December 12th
If you really want to know how I set my goals and gain the motivation to do this stuff, you may want to refer back to my article in last weeks post: Take Massive Action.
OK, a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that one of the weapons you will need in your arsenal is great content. Gone are the days of unsophisticated search engines that merely look at how many times a keyword is used on a page. As I mentioned in my article, the Internet game is getting very, very sophisticated and if you really want to make a difference and some money on the Internet you really have to have high quality content. I told you several reason why you are going to need this content and you should really go back and read that article if you have not already:Deliver Information of Value to your Audience
The question that usually comes up is, “Hey Ellis, how do I go about creating great content that people are going to actually want?” Well, it is very easy to do so, but I want you to think about a concept that has been around for a long time. In the Bible somewhere it states, “There is no new thing under the sun.” Being a teacher of history for the last 9 years, I can honestly say that the statement is pretty true. Almost everything we have and learn is something that has been thought up before, experimented with and regurgitated into newly arranged information or ideas. Notice I said “arranged” not created. Take the Internet, for example. The Internet is just an upgraded version of the Pony Express if you think about it. Instead of using horses to deliver information , we are using fiber-optic cable. Instead of sitting around the campfire to listen to the village story teller spin a tale, we now have TV.So as you an see, basically we have very similar innovations and ideas that have been built upon and modified from one generation to the next.
Well, content is the same. There is no new thing under the sun. Don’t worry about creating 100% original stuff because it ain’t gonna happen. Now, am I going to tell you to copy stuff and put it on your blog or Website? NO! Google and the other search engines hate duplicate content and they will zap you every time for it, but what they do like is fresh content. In other words, you can take information that is already out there and rewrite it into your own words and the search engines won’t be bothered by it at all. As a matter of fact, here is an easy way to get fresh content for your site in a step by step fashion:
- Go to the library and check out a few books on the subject that you are writing about. Actually, you can go to Amazon and buy whatever book you need used which is what I would recommend.
- Scan the books for the core information that you will need to write about. If you bought the books, you can use a highlighter to mark the most important parts of the information you will need.
- Rewrite the information into your own words or go to Guru or Elance and get someone to rewrite the information for you.
- Go to the Google Keyword Tool
- Do some research on Keywords and see which ones that you can use for your writing. Only pick a couple of keywords or phrases for your page or blog post. Don’t use too many. (For information on how to use Google’s keyword tool, watch the video below)
- After you have rewritten the information, post it to your blog or website. Do not post several pages at once! Google loves to see growth over time, so try to post only 500 to 600 words at a time. If you are writing for a blog, try to make a series out of it so that people will want to comeback and read the next post.
Remember the rule, you can always rewrite what others have written IF you put it into your own words. As a matter of fact, if you are using several different information sources like the Internet, books and articles from magazines then you can really load your site up with dynamite content.
Come back later today and read the rest of this incredible article because it is being written and updated right now!
Tips for Entrepreneurs – Learn How to Use You Tube to Educate Yourself
I am throwing out another blog post because I think I have something important to say, I want you to know. I think one of the greatest things on the Internet is You Tube. Now, I understand that you enjoy watching ridiculous stuff on there that’s funny, because I do it too. There’s nothing more hilarious than watching a cat getting thrown from a fan( Providing that no harm was done to the cat. I am an animal lover, but gee, sometimes they do stupid things that you just have to laugh at.) . Don’t believe me? Watch this:
Well, here is another tip for you. You can learn an awful lot about how to do Internet Marketing, Time Management, Success Principles or whatever by using You Tube to educate yourself. However, there are a lot of people on here selling their expensive wares and courses, so watch out. They will sometimes tell you just enough to get you to want to buy their ebook, course or whatever.
I’m not saying to not buy their stuff, because some of it is good information, but there is a lot of it out there that is a rip off and a mere regurgitation of books that these folks bought from Amazon. Yes, they buy the books related to what they are writng about and rewrite the material and then sell it as a course for much more than what you would have paid in a book store.
However, there are many marketing and success gurus that are very worthy of attention and you can get a lot of material from them on You Tube.
My favorites are:
- Dan Kennedy – My favorite
- Jim Rohn – Great speaker and funny too
- Seth Godin – Believes in giving away free stuff
- Zig Ziglar - Zig has been around forever
- Jeff Johnson - Has a large amount of You Tube stuff to watch on Internet Marketing
- Gary Halburt - Ad copy expert
- Dave Kamanski – How to use Video
- Dave Ramsey - Christian financial counselor you can listen to his show on his Website – archived
I have others that I watch and listen. you have to constantly learn from people that are success oriented. Education is always an ongoing thing that never ends if you want to be successful.
Peace Out
Mark
P.S. I got the “Peace Out” thing from from Kip in Napoleon Dynamite. See? You really can learn important stuff from You Tube!
Internet Marketing Techniques Part 3 – Take Massive Action Now!
It is January 3rd already and I’m sure all of you set into place your new year’s resolutions and have probably broken them already. Not that I’m being negative, but I am a realist and I do know the law of averages. The key to keeping a resolution is to keep pursuing the dream no matter what. You will have setbacks but you MUST get back on your feet and resume your previous course of action. By the way, the key word here is ACTION. If you have a particular goal that you want to accomplish, then you must take MASSIVE ACTION in that direction otherwise, you won’t accomplish too much.

Whenever I want to accomplish a particular goal or I have a lot of work to do, I make lists on my white board which is over my desk. I then check them off one by one so that I ensure that I have a clear set of objectives and goals lined up for me to accomplish. Now if you have a bunch of goals, then you can put numbers and stars next to the most pressing ones and knock them off in a prioritized fashion. But no matter what you do, you must take HUGE LEAPS of ACTION in attacking these tasks and goals, otherwise you will get very depressed.
I recently saw a program on the Discovery Channel call “I Shouldn’t Be Alive” (If you haven’t seen the show, then check out a clip here: I Shouldn’t Be Alive)wherein this young guy took his father on an Alaskan adventure by themselves. To cut a long story short, they tipped their boat into a freezing river and became stranded in the Alaskan wilderness with few provisions. Considering the situation being as dangerous as it was, I can understand the fear that the men must have faced. I lived in Alaska for 6 years and I talked extensively to people that made their living in the wilderness, and the one thing they told me was that you have to know what you are doing out there you could very easily find yourself dead.
The point that I wanted to make is that when the young man and his father found themselves stranded they sat down and started looking at pictures of their families. They started to get very depressed because they were in a very dangerous situation. However, they recovered when the set themselves to work. That is the key to survival in any situation because motion beats meditation every time! If you are depressed about your business or if you have lost your job, whatever the situation is, you must find a direction and take action. Laying around on the couch is going to depress the heck out of you and you will find yourself thinking very unhealthy thoughts.
My favorite marketing Guru, Dan Kennedy has a formula for beating this problem. He has an incredible book called “The Ultimate Success Secret” and I believe, the only way you can get a copy is by going to his site and ordering it. Anyway, I have had a copy of it for years and it is my favorite book, I read it several times a year and it really gives me a huge boost. In it, Mr. Kennedy has a formula that is fantastic and has great real world principles. Here it is:
CONTROL=RESPONSIBILITY & RESPONSIBILITY =CONTROL
It is a very basic, yet powerful concept. If you want more control of your life, then take on more responsibility. If you take on more responsibility in your life then you will have much greater control.
I have had friends and relatives complain big time about how others have gotten ahead of them in life. Well, when you specifically ask them what they have done what actions they have taken, they can’t give you any specifics, because they haven’t done Ka-Ka. ( That’s right, I said KA -KA). I personally believe that God has set up the universe with a perfect order that transcends everything we see and do. If we are inactive and unmotivated to do certain things that are vital to our lives the we get nothing. If we plot a course and consistantly move toward that goal, we will get results. Now, I am no expert on God or the universe and the way it works, but I can see that if you have a definite purpose and move toward a specific goal, then you will eventually reap the benefits you want.
You have to have the attitude that NOTHING is gonna stop you from getting what you want out of life. Not lack of education, not physical impairments, not age or anything else.
YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH GREAT THINGS IF YOU TAKE ACTION !!!!!
At age 70:
- Benjamin Franklin helped draft the Declaration of Independence.
- Businessman Cornelius Vanderbilt began buying railroads.
- French actress Sarah Bernhardt had a leg amputated but refused to abandon the stage.
- Justice John W. Sirica heard the Watergate case.
- Judy Brenner, who had recently run the Boston Marathon, chased a teenage shoplifter 100 feet and helped hold him until police arrived.
At age 100+:
- Alice Porlock of Great Britain published her first book, Portrait of My Victorian Youth, when she was 102 years old.
- Jeanne Calment, 119, was recognized as the world’s oldest living person.
- Correction: Yone Minagawa, 114, is the world’s oldest living person.
- Japanese teetotaller Tomoji Tanabe was named the world’s oldest man.
Happy New Year!!!
Hey I just waned to say, Happy New Year! I just saw the big ball drop and I hope you all have a very prosperous new year. God Bless everybody!
Internet Marketing Techniques Part 2 – Deliver Information of Value to Your Audience
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas as I did. Of course, at this point everyone should now be scratching their heads, wondering how in the heck they are going to pay for all of this stuff that they probably didn’t need in the first place. I went to Walmart yesterday to stand in line for about a half an hour. Actually, I have to commend Walmart for its great customer service because they had every station in the customer service line manned, helping customers with their returns.
This is just another reason why I shop at the place, you can return stuff without any hassles. I once bought an item and forgot to take it back for about six months and they still took it back. I guess this is one of the reasons why Walmart’s business is still going through the roof while everybody else is closing down. They don’t waste their time on fancy advertising (other than that stupid smiley face) because their marketing trick is to deliver the goods better than anyone else.
Talking about this principle is my lead in to this week’s post about delivering something of value to people so that they can be more receptive to your marketing message. If you can offer people something of value for free they will be much more receptive to your message to them. Seth Godin, the marketer that created Squidoo
talked about this in the video that I posted on my last blog post nd you can actually read my post and see the video here: Internet Marketing Techniques Part 1
Here is an equation that I want you to write down students: Solid Content = Loyal Subscribers
I can honestly tell you that I have bumped into people that have 2,000 or so blogs, and if that is any indication of how poor the content must be on those blogs, then I don’t know what could be! In this case you have a person that has an automatic blog feeder which looks all around the net for blog posts and then automatically posts on those blogs. However, you will run into a problem with Google because Google does not look too favorably on duplicate content sites. Of course, the whole idea of my dissertation today is about delivering high quality to your loyal fan base. So, don’t bother with those types of tactics because you will only spend big money buying them and they don’t work so well.
Deliver high quality information to your fan base and they will come back to you again and again. This is something that takes a lot of time and effort, but as we all know, if this were easy then everyone would be making big money on here.
I recently listened to a millionaire record producer that used to produce recordings by the group The Average White Band. He was talking about how delivering quality was of paramount importance. At this point in his career, he was working with legendary producer, Quincy Jones. He had mentioned to Mr. Jones that he had some recordings on the record that he just didn’t feel right about. Quincy picked up a copy of the label wherein the songs and other info were listed and he said,
” What does that say?”
The producer answered, “You mean the list of songs?”
Quincy said, “No, dummy,right there.”
“Well that’s my name.”
“Are you going to put your name on anything less than excellent? Because,” Jones eyed him, ” if you are, you better get out of the recording industry.”
That is the attitude that you must have with your business on and off the Internet. Don’t ever deliver goods or services that are substandard. People will one day recognize you as an authority and an expert if you deliver high quality information and services to them and eventually, they will return to you again and again.
Well, students of enterprise, that’s it for this segment of the series on Internet Marketing Techniques. Come back later this week for a special New Years Day posting.
Peace Out
Mark
P.S. Here is another Video tip on by Seth Godin on how to win the respect of people on the Internet
Free Stuff at Ellistrated Websites an Original Woprdpress Blog Template that you can Download
OK, students of enterprise, I am currently working on my first installment on Internet Marketing Techniques and how to make money and generate interest in your business using the Internet. If you didn’t get a chance to take a look at the article, now would be a good time to do so. I will have the next episode coming out tomorrow.
Another thing that you can do to generate traffic to your website is to give away free stuff. That is exactly what I am doing today. I am giving away a newly designed, totally original Wordpress template that you can download for your own Blog. One of the the things that will make look at you differently if you are blogging, is if you look professional and have a nice design to your site or blog. Actually, you don’t have to have anything fancy, just something that looks professionally designed and loads fast. My site, Ellistrated Websites, was very simple to make and has a very simple design to it. I would dare say that if you can’t navigate around my site, then you should get off of the Internet. Actually, I took the design and concept of simplicity from Google, which as we all know has a very simple interface.
I created the Wordpress template, called “Moonlight” with a simple yet elegant design to it. It has those rounded corners that everyone seems to love and I placed a nice moonlight picture in the banner to give it ambiance. (This temple would probably appealm to all of those vampire fans, although I really don’t want to encourage more of that stuff. Ha!)
I hope that some of you will enjoy the template and please stay tuned for my next installment which will be coming out tomorrow.
If you are totally foreign to installing a Wordpress Template, please check out this Youtube video on how to install it.
Peace Out
Mark
Internet Marketing Techniques Part 1 – Cultivate Relationships and Grow Your Business
Everybody wants to learn how to make money on the Internet. I have been doing so for just about ten years and I feel
like I am somewhat qualified to reveal a couple of techniques that I have learned along the way. Actually, I have shelves filled up with all sorts of books and a hard drive loaded with “top secret techniques” (ebooks) that I have read from internet marketing gurus. So, I have decided to write an entire series on what these folks claim to be top secret techniques in which they have charged mega-bucks to almost everyone under the sun. Personally I think that if you went to just about any book store you will find pretty much the same content in books which are written in great detail about the subject, but here I am ratting out the gurus so that you don’t have to spend all of that hard earned moola.
The most prominent strategy that you can use in making money over the Internet is the technique called relationship building. I personally have worked with information and internet marketers and the one thing I was always reminded of was the fact that building a list was important but maintaining and keeping a relationship with the people on your list was gold. It is not enough that you develop a customer list, you must develop an actual care and relationship with those people if you are to have long term success and credibility with them.
- The Personal Touch – One of the ways that you can establish credibility and caring with people that you build a business relationship with, is to create personal messages that have valuable content. It seems like many of the big time gurus have forgotten about this principle and it will eventually be to their demise. If you craft messages that contain short greetings followed by a sales pitch, then you are in grave danger of losing that potential client or customer forever. Almost any business can benefit from this advice, be it online or offline brick and mortar businesses. People will actually be refreshed by honest and open communication from a person that does not try to sell them from the word “go”.
- Credibility - The most potent method of creating this type of trust is by building credibility. This is the reason why we have the personal touch and develop relationships. Any marketing analyst can tell you that a person or group is ten times more likely to do business with you if they know you and definitely if they TRUST you.
- Know Your Audience – It is absolutely imperative that you find out what your audience or subscribers / visitors want. If you start giving information about gerbil racing to people who race turtles, then you will have a serious problem connecting with your audience. Not only that, but if you have qualified yourself as an expert in a particular field and delivered valuable information about it, then you will get cooperation from them. Why do you need cooperation? Because you want two-way communication with them so that they can tell you exactly what they are looking for. You will actually want to ask them at some point what it is that they are looking for. There are several ways of doing this. If you have a blog and make regular postings about a particular subject, then you will want to encourage them to leave comments on your blog. You could also have a forum that also has many different categories of subjects and see what your fans are looking for. I once used an online survey to ask people what they were looking for on my site and it worked out great. As a matter of fact, you can take a survey right now by clicking this: Internet Marketing Guru Survey. I got this plugin for this Wordpress Blog from SurveyGizmo.
- The First Contact - When you first begin your Internet marketing venture, you will not have a ton of people to write, so you should be able to talk directly with a customer with a personalized email. Call them by name and make it as personal as you can with out giving out personal details about yourself liked what type of underwear you wear. Remember, be genuine. People are made to feel like just a name and number in this world, so if you treat them like a real human instead of an opportunity, then you will be like a breath or fresh air.
Well students, I think I have covered enough for this segment. I will continue on my journey in the next several parts of this series next time. Here is a video that I think you will find relative to this subject by the famous marketing guru Seth Godin who, by the way, created Squidoo.
Millionaire Secrets What Kinds of Habits and Traits do Millionaires Have?
One of the best books that you can purchase if you really want to access the minds and ideas of millionaires is a book by Thomas J. Stanley called The Millionaire Mind. Mr. Stanley has taken a great deal of time and complied, interviewed and documented the minds of millionaires in an effort to chronicle what actually goes through their lives, how they think and make money. We all have seen some of these people on TV but it would surprise how most of these wealthy millionaires live quite a different life than what most of us would think. Most of them drive very economical cars, don’t wear flashy clothes or even have organized desks. When I read the book, I was amazed at how many of the traits that I was so accustomed to thinking wealthy people possessed was quite a bit different than what i was accustomed to thinking about. If you haven’t read Mr. Stanley’s book yet, then I would highly recommended it, because as I have already stated, it is quite an eye opener. Anyway, rather than write an entire book for you, what I can do is give you at least two or three traits of millionaires that I think you will find helpful in your endeavors, or at least, satisfy your curiosity a bit. So, here are at least three traits that I think you will be able to use:
- Millionaires work on their educations all of the time. They not only work on their educations, but they do so in a live setting. Now I am not talking about a classroom necessarily, but that is one method that they do use. Actually, a lot of their on going education is also conducted by way of seminars and mentors. (Not to forget telesiminars, webinars and many other sources of communication.) I don’t know if you read my last rant on how people that will either get a job, or start a business and then pigeon hole themselves into that position by not improving themselves. Sooner or later folks, if you don’t learn anything new, you will be shredded. Even if you decide to get a regular education, in some cases, you can get a degree for the price of a used car. Just make sure the college or university you choose is a regular one that will have transferable credits. I received my Master’s Degree from Boise State University this year and the whole thing was completed over the Internet.
- Millionaires read a lot. Some of them read an entire book a week. The books they read are not usually about the same subject, but they aren’t non- fiction books either. I really don’t see how reading the Twilight Series of vampire books will help you as an entrepreneur, but if you can enlighten me I’d be interested in hearing about it.
- Create worthy goals. Some people refer to the acronym SMART whenever they talk about this process. “S” stands for Specific – You need to create goals that have a certain degree of focus. “M” is for Measurable. If you think you can set goals without having some sort of measure of success, then think again. You must be able to track you success on a regular basis. too many times, people will give up on their goals because they have no way to track what they are doing. “A” for Attainable is the next word we need to be concerned. If you can’t have an attainable set of goals then you will get burned out very quickly. The best thing to do is to break down a big goal into smaller steps, that way you can see some progress and you will be able to see your progress better. “R” is for Relevant. You need to make sure that whatever efforts you are putting forth are congruent to your overall plan or goal. If your goal is to build a hotel, then having an activity of learning how to spray paint cars is not relevant. Finally, the letter “T” stands for Time. Make sure that you set a date as to when the goal should be attained.
